My most recent story in the Glimpses of Gaza series, Between Rage and Despair (a five minute read) follows the struggles of Fatima Ahmed Qadeeh, a widowed mother with three young children who has lost over fifty relatives in the Gaza genocide, as she tries to feed and shelter her parents and children. This is a link to Fatima’s Go Fund Me for those that want to help her with food and a tent. Even five dollars would make her happy.

July 16th, 2024. Thank you to everyone who donated to Fatima Ahmed Qadeeh’s fundraiser. She was able to purchase a canvas tent for her three children and elderly parents with the donations! The family has more room now, as well as better protection from the elements. And remember, even if there was a permanent ceasefire tomorrow, there’s no telling how long she will have to live in the tent. Most of the housing stock in Gaza has been destroyed. So your donations have truly helped her. The rest of the money has been used to buy food to keep her children alive.

On July 21sr, 2024, a family of some of Fatima’s last remaining relatives who have survived the genocide, were killed by Israel in an airstrike. The family consisted of Fatima’s cousin Mahmoud, his wife Samah and their children Maryam, Amal, and Nisreen.
