The Ethnic Cleansing of Gaza City as Seen Through the Eyes of a Pediatric Nurse

I wrote this story about the ethnic cleaning of Gaza City in September 2025 with Ali Lubbad a pediatric nurse in Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital. It’s based on his social media posts and conversations we had as well as his appearance in online meetings. You can find a link to his short autobiography below or in the text of this story. It appeared in Dissident Voice, an online magazine. Link here!

You can donate to Ali’s family at his GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/3410e738c

Nike of the Salish Sea

A girl, a dream, a story…

My long awaited short story Nike of the Salish Sea was published by Boudin…the spicy online cousin of The McNeese Review in their Blooms in Dusk issue. Took me years to figure out how best to tell the story and get it accepted to a literary journal. It’s 5,000 words, about a 20 minute read if you’re a good reader.

I added a few improvements concerning the references to Marguerite Duras’ The Lover, so please read this updated version of Nike of the Salish Sea if you dare! Click below for the original Boudin magazine version:
